Denver, located in eastern Lincoln County, borders Lake Norman’s western shoreline. Developers have recently taken note of these western shores of Lake Norman and its outlying areas, bringing major growth. More and more home buyers are finding the commute to Charlotte, Hickory and other nearby cities “reasonable” and are drawn to Denver’s small-town atmosphere, its friendly neighborhoods, larger lot sizes, and beautiful rolling terrain. These combined with the recreation provided by Lake Norman make Denver the perfect place to live, giving tremendous success to these new communities. The recent addition of Trilogy Lake Norman, an active lifestyle community, has increased the interest in this “west-side-of-the-lake” area.
NC Highway 16 is the main thoroughfare in the area and it has been restructured and widened to four lanes. If heading south, a connection on I-485 brings you right to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Running parallel to the newer 4 lane Highway 16, the existing Business Highway 16 provides access to area businesses and lake area neighborhoods. It provides direct access south to Charlotte and I-85 and north to Hickory and I-40. Highway 16 also intersects both NC Highways 73 and 150 giving convenient access to I-77. The area along Highway 16 is experiencing a great deal of commercial growth. Conveniences, such as shopping, restaurants, office space and medical services are coming to the area in rapid succession to serve current residents and those relocating here.
